Simple Eating: Apple Banana Smoothie

One of the best things about having a blender is that I can basically chop up a bunch of veggies and fruit and make a meal in a cup. On my afternoons off, I like to experiment and see what kinds of concoctions I can come up with. I'm embarrassed to say that some of my "recipes" have become a nightmare, but there are some that have turned out pretty good, like this Apple Banana Smoothie recipe :)

Ingredients:

One sliced apple (I use honey crisp or fuji)

One cut banana

One tablespoon of peanut butter

Ice cubes

1 cup of almond milk

Throw everything in a blender and start off blending at low and slowly increasing to high. When you're finished, serve in a tall glass and add granola bits to the top. I like using a Trader Joe's Gluten-Free Loaded Fruit and Nut Granola .

This smoothie is great as a meal replacement or a snack! If you want, you can even add a scoop of protein powder for a sustaining treat.

Bon Appetit !
